Medicine Bow Peak, a 12,014' mountain peak, part of the Snowy Range, is the highest point in southern Wyoming. It is about half an hour west of Laramie and is part of the beautiful Medicine Bow National Forest. Lewis Lake, near Sugarloaf mountain, is a beautiful location near the peaks of the Snowy Range. We were all recently treated to a comet sighting for the first time in more than two decades. NEOWISE, an acronym for NASA’s Near-Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, flew near earth, around the sun and then back out into space. For those of us that got out to see it, it was visible most nights right above the horizon after the sky darkened for sunset. In most places, binoculars, telescope or a camera was required to see it. No one on planet Earth will see it

There is nothing in the world quite like the view of the sunset light hitting the sandstone rock formations surrounding Sedona. Once the sun fully sets, the formations appear to radiate the light they've soaked up back out into the world. Shooting the starry sky in Sedona is a great experience and if you have the capability, a worthwhile pursuit.
